Upon his graduation from physical therapy school, Darren was awarded the Outstanding Clinical Performance Award for exceptional performance as a clinician. He joined the Mobility team in 2011 and enjoys the individualized, hands on approach of physical therapy.
Matthew Schatz, P.T., M.P.T.
*Owner and primary Physical Therapist in Lake Forest
Matthew Schatz received his undergraduate, bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of California, Irvine in 1997 with the goal of becoming a physician. After deciding that he no longer wanted to pursue a career in medicine he sought out alternatives that would allow him to continue to provide care to the general public. After researching many different paths, he found that his passion for the human body and to help others maintain optimal health brought him to physical therapy.
Matthew attended the Western University of Health Sciences for physical therapy where he received his Master’s degree in 2000. Along with his degree he was awarded the Outstanding Clinician Award for his exceptional performance in the clinic.
After working for a couple “high volume” orthopedic clinics he realized that there must be a better way to provide his service to the public. Running every client through the same exercise routine provided dismal results and he found that very few people actually benefited from their version of “physical therapy”.
In 2001, Matthew Schatz started and incorporated Mobility Physical Therapy, Inc. with the foundation that people and their injuries are all different and taking the time to understand each injury was of utmost importance. The clinic settled in Lake Forest, California in 2002 and has grown rapidly due to their high success rate and favor of the surrounding physicians.
